Battery Park

This structure is a waterfront by the river, and uses some classic elements found in many of Mary Miss’s works. The use of modern geometric shapes mixed with organic flows and lines. There are varying heights, paths and was to interact with the environment and perspectives to view. Its meant to show the end of land going towards the river it starts becoming more basic and skeletal ending in a wooden overhang that is the end. A large amount of water coming under the structure beneath paths as well as grates and open metal structures to allow the viewers to perhaps feel a spray or at least smell the water. Again the focus is on the integration of viewer and natural elements and an awareness of space for the person experiencing it.
