Throw a pair of pants over a chair in your room. Draw an interesting section of the pants and the chair. Consider the background. The paints should almost fill your page. You are looking to render the folds of fabric. Try to use only one light source.
Take a section of a photo of a face and paste it in your sketchbook, upside down. On the opposing page, draw this image as you see it, in colour. An upside down portrait will lead you to draw what you see instead of what you think your see.
Using a variety (3+) of expressive mark making techniques, create an expressive artwork inspired by the lyrics of a song. Use the whole sheet of paper / consider the entire frame (principles of design may help)
Create a new world. With a page of your sketchbook upside down, drip a colour liquid from the top of a page to create several drip lines. Turn the page back upright and draw creatures, imagined or real, living in the grass (use watercolours for the drips and pencil or pen for the creatures). do your best togive life to this scene. Create creatures of all different sizes and try to eliminate the white of the page.
Frottage: Create a scene, still life or portrait made atlest 75% with rubbings of 8-10 different found objects (use crayons or coloured pencils).
Create an image using mixed-media collage (using things such as thread, glue, printed images, stamps, paint etc.). Fill up the page, eliminating white page spaces.
Fill a page with more than three hand studies in various positions. Each hand should be actual size and use hatching to make it appear 3D.
Zoom in and create a full page drawing of a fruit or vegetable in a full colour range in emphasis, rhythm, contrast, or asymmetry.
Draw a cup of coffee or tea using coffee or tea and a spoon to make the drawing. (Don’t add milk)
Complete a self portrait in grey scale from a photograph. Then do a second version in colour. (2)
Using coloured pencils, do a self-portrait from a mirror focusing on light and shapes that help you see the facial structure. Focus only on a 1⁄4 of your face.
Fill a page with detailed plant studies.
Create a work of word art, using lines of text to form your image (e.g. a poem's text forms a line, oshape this line to define a form)

22) Do a sketch inspired by an artist. It could be a cropped or have like colors or subjects.
23) Draw the negative space around an object. Focus on the background.
24) Watch the clouds. Do observational studies of 3 types of cloud formations.
25) Design a logo: Combine a name or word with an image and colors. Think simple.
26) Art from another culture. Include a sketch from their art and report on how it reflects the culture
27) Create a mix medium collage about a social issue. Use 3 different mediums.
28) Draw a reflective surface. Metal, mirror, stainless steal pots.
29) Do a drawing in 1 point perspective. Give the scene some life.
30) Invent a new product or furniture and represent it in 2 point perspective.
31) Do a colour drawing from a photograph or still life, a preliminary to painting.
