The Hagia Sophia also known as The Church of Holy Wisdom was a Byzantine Church and then an Ottoman Mosque before becoming the museum that it is today! Unfortunately there is nothing that remains of the original Hagia Sophia that was created in 404 AD. The third version is one of the greatest examples of Byzantine architecture that still stands today.

It is free to enter the building and only $4.50 to go upstairs where the majority of mosaics are. So if you ever happen to be in Turkey I highly suggest visiting this great piece of history.
