Novel study – sort and predict activity

Below are several words taken from Sticks and stones  by Beth Goobie.  Working with a small group, do the following:

• Think about the novel’s title, Sticks and Stones
• Cut or tear this sheet so that each word is on a separate piece of paper
• Sort the words into an order that makes sense to you. (the goal here is NOT to make sentences.  The selected words aren’t designed to do that.)
• Use your order to predict what the novel will be about and write a prediction.
