Art Journal Journal Example

 Drawing #5, September 9, 1999

55 min.

Today I was feeling energetic, but because of the rain I decided to work on my Art Journal. I had already selected a picture of my brothers to do a drawing from and I was feeling up to tackling it. I hadn't drawn with ink much so I thought I would use a brush and black ink to create this drawing. This was fun. I felt free with the ink to make sloppy and precise marks as I saw fit. This process allowed me to feel free yet also challenge my self to hone up my drawing skills.

Getting use to the inks I made a lot of mistakes, but I was able to wipe off most of them while the ink was still wet and paint over them. I also experimented with applying and moving the ink around with other instruments such as paper towel and sticks. I enjoyed this process and will likely use these materials again.
