Tiana Harley-Thomas – The Sound Weir

The project I have decided to create is a sound weir. This would be a small construction whose purpose was to be an interactive musical instrument or collection of instruments. The purpose of this space would be to cause a creative play reaction in the audience. Possibly it could be set up in an environment like an office building or a sidewalk or a school hall way, where it would cause a strong reaction. Basically it is a fish weir structure, with supporting two by four posts and a network of nets to support the instruments and to guide people. The structure would funnel the people entering into the structure and guide their progress, and also the spiral shape would cause people passing by to react to its positioning, moving around it.
