Space Exploration of the 20th Century

"Thats one small step for man one giant leap for mankind," Neil Armstrong said as he stepped out of his spacecraft onto our desolate moon July 20, 1969.

From the beginning of the industrial revolution our society has focused primarely on scientific and corporate gain. These pursuits seemed to have come to a climax when the first American man stepped foot on the moon.

This is said to be one of the greatest journeys man has accomplished in the twentith century.

"I believe that this nation should commit itelf to acheiving a goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safley to earth." Sentiments from John F. Keneddy on May 25, 1961.

I'm sure that in the 21st century and for years to come there will be many more great space explorations. Prehaps a goal that the entire world could commit itself to putting more effort into the welfare of the people on this planet.
