ART HISTORY AND CRITICISM

It is important that art students develop an appreciation, understanding, and vocabulary in the art which led to our place in history. Over the year we will enter into discussions arrising from research you have gathered on artists and movements. Therefore, in each term you will be expected to research the work ofatleast five influential Canadian and International artists.

To get started, you may consult some of these resources. To succeed at gathering good research, DO NOT depend on internet information. Go to the Horton and Acadia Library. Consult the CPIQ. Read art magazines. Do good academic research.
