Grade 11 Math Portfolio Outline
Ø Please remember that your portfolios are worth 20% of each
term’s mark.
Ø Late portfolios will not be marked so be sure of the due
date.
Ø All corrections to tests and quizzes are to be
completed on a separate sheet of paper, numbered clearly, and stapled to the
original work. Work must be shown for corrections – simply
writing the correct answer is not acceptable.
Your Portfolio
should contain the following:
1.
Your three quizzes
with errors corrected. The corrected quizzes must be placed in
your portfolio for evaluation no later than one week after they have been
returned to the class. These corrected quizzes will be marked for
the completeness and the accuracy of the
corrections.
2. Your two tests with errors corrected. The corrected
tests must be placed in your portfolio for evaluation no later than one week
after they have been returned to the class. . These corrected quizzes will be marked for
the completeness and the accuracy of the
corrections.
3. The homework that is requested by your teacher (homework will
be collected without prior notification) and MUST be passed in when it is
requested! If you are absent on the date when homework is collected your
teacher will require you to pass in some other homework that they request. This
homework will be marked for its organization and completeness. Students are
expected to have attempted all
assigned questions and to have taken care in the organization and presentation
of their work.
4. A self-evaluation of your work for this
term as follows:
This will be a three-part evaluation. For each part provide a short, clearly
written evaluation on the topic for that part.
In your evaluation you must refer
to the work you have included in your portfolio. You may also refer to other work you have
completed throughout the term.
Part
I – your attitude toward the course.
Part
III –your level of understanding on concepts taught
(Please
note: it is more important to be honest in your evaluation than it is to be
glib.)
5. Your application assignment. This assignment
will be marked for accuracy and organization. Fully worked solutions MUST be provided. Answers should
be clearly indicated and include units.
6. A table of contents. Please
organize your work using the form that is provided.
