StFX University Math Preparation (Online Summer Course)

When: July 17 - August 25, 2017

Registration Deadline: July 12, 2017

Tuition: $373.75 (includes HST)

This non-credit interative course is intended to prepare students for university level math courses. Some of the main topics studied in this course are mathematical functions, trigonometry, and an introduction to limits.

Students wishing to have StFX University recognize this course as satisfying the prerequisite of a pre-calculus course can opt to write an exam (a minimum grade of 70% is required to attain the prerequisite).

StFX Writing for Academic Purposes (Online summer course)

StFX Continuing Education, in collaboration with the StFX Student Success Centre, is please to offer this six week, non-credit course in Writing for Academic Purposes. This course offers practical strategies for improving skills in academic essay writing. Students will be guided through each stage of writing a short essay on a subject relevant to the contemporary social context.

Saint Mary's University - University Prep Spring-Summer Program

SMU's university prep courses are designed for students who wish to improve a grade or are missing a required course for admission to post secondary studies.

The folowing courses will be offered: English; Mathematics, Mathematics (Online); Pre-Calculus Term I; Pre-Calculus Term II; Biology (Online); Chemistry, and Physics.

Study and Go Abroad Fair

When: Thursday, September 28, 2017, Expvfrom Canada and around the world, as awll as student travel organizations for gap year and other experiential travel programs. Free seminars will also take place during the day, starting one hour before the expo opens.

Summer Academy of Music @ Mount Allison University

When: July 16 - 22, 2017

Mount Allison University will once again be hosting a week-long Summer Academy of Music for pianists, singers, string, woodwind, brass, and percussion instrumentalists ages 14 - 19. This is a superb opportunity for dedicated young musicians to hone their skills, learn new repertoire, and perform with other students in the lovely setting of the Marjorie Young Bell Conservatory on the Mount Allison campus.

Summer Music Academy (Concert Band Camp) @ Acadia University

When: July 2 - 8, 2017, Ages 10 - 18

Join us this summer at Acadia University for an immersive, one-week concert band camp for brass, woodwind, and percussion musicians. Whether you'd like to learn the basics of an instrument or take your skills to the next level, you'll learn more about music in one week at Acadia than you can imagine. Students have the option to live in an Acadia residence for the week or to join as a day student.

MUN's Summer Orientation for Academic Readiness (SOAR)

What: SOAR is an extended orientation experience intended to prepare students for the transition into Memorial University. This highly engaging two-day program will encourage students to engage in the Memorial community. Saint Mary's University - Summer Writing Workshop

Where: Saint Mary's University

What: Each year Saint Mary's University Writing Centre offers graduating high school students an opportunity to experience university life, as well as an introduction to post-secondary academic skills. Over a period of two days the Summer Writing Workshop familiarizes students with university-level writing and critical thinking, building on skills acquired in high school

How Much: $200 without residence or $240 with residence. There is a family discount of 20%, as well as a reduced rate for those who cannot afford the full price.
