BOOK REPORT
CANADIAN LITERATURE REVIEW

For this book report, your challenge is to read a piece of Canadian literature. Upon completing your reading, you are expected to provide the following:

1. Brief biography of the author, (200 words)
2. Letter to the author discussing the work in question, (200 words)

AND one of the following: (200 words or equivalent effort.)

· An animated version of the story (comic book)
· A test students could write about the story (complete with answer key)
· A review or critique of the story (what you liked, what you felt was substandard).
· Some other creative outlet of your choosing, as long as it is approved by me in advance.

Before you start reading, you must make sure you are reading an acceptable work - in order to do this, you must complete a request form. A request form is little more than providing the following information:

· Name of the author.
· Title of the book.
· Length of the book.
· Verification that the work is considered Canadian literature.
· An explanation of why the work is appropriate for grade 9 English.
